John Louie

After completing the UC Davis Botanical Conservatory internship in Spring 2024, John Louie, a fourth-year transfer student, rediscovered his passion for plants and shifted his academic focus to Plant Biology. He volunteered at the conservatory for three quarters before joining as a staff member in Winter 2025. Growing up in the Sacramento area, John developed a special interest in propagating carnivorous plants from the tepuis, including Heliamphora, Brocchinia, Drosera, Utricularia, and Genlisea. In his free time, he enjoys tending to his exotic pets and searching for vintage 1960s and 1970s attire.
