A Global Plant Collection for Discovery and Learning

Help us reach our $6,000 dollar goal to build a new database!

The Botanical Conservatory is running a Crowdfund UC Davis campaign in order to purchase plant database software and hire a student intern to inventory our collection. Having an accessible database with cultivation and conservation data helps make our collection more valuable as a resource for teaching, research, and outreach.

Additionally, if 40 people donate to this campaign, a $3,000 contribution from Kate Mawdsley will be unlocked. As a librarian, collection databases and inventory are dear to her heart! As of 10AM on October 8th, we are almost halfway to this challenge goal and only need 21 more donors!

The UC Davis Botanical Conservatory is home to a diverse collection of over 4,000 plant species from around the world, providing a unique space for education, research, and conservation. Our greenhouse showcases rare and unusual plants from tropical rainforests, arid deserts, and carnivorous habitats, offering visitors a hands-on experience with plant adaptations and biodiversity. Whether exploring on a self-guided visit, joining a guided tour, or participating in internships and volunteer opportunities, the Conservatory is a hub for discovery and learning.
