Hands-On Experience in Plant Care and Greenhouse Management
The Botanical Conservatory offers internships for UC Davis students interested in gaining practical experience in plant care, propagation, and greenhouse management. Interns work directly with a diverse collection of plants from around the world, learning essential skills in horticulture, conservation, and research support.
Internship Opportunities
Interns participate in a variety of activities, including:
- Propagating plants through cuttings, division, and transplanting
- Maintaining greenhouse collections and monitoring plant health
- Assisting with plant sales and public outreach
- Supporting educational programs and guided tours
Internships are designed to provide valuable, hands-on training while deepening students’ understanding of plant biology and ecological systems.

- Availability: Internships are offered on a rolling first-come, first-served basis
- Eligibility: Open to UC Davis students with an interest in plant sciences or greenhouse management
- Commitment: Interns typically work a set number of hours per week, with flexible scheduling options
